Human Trafficking Digital Identification Guide

Project Description: Human trafficking is something that each and everyone one of us will encounter in our lifetimes, but will you notice it or know who to call? This job aid is a just-in-time guide for those individuals working with at-risk youth. They will be able to useĀ it to identify potential victims of human trafficking, by helping them to identify the red flags, understand how to handle the situation, and know who to call when they suspect a youth may be a victim of human trafficking.

  • Topic: A digital job-aid used to help identify potential victims of human trafficking.

  • Audience: Utah Division of Juvenile Justice Services staff working directly with at-risk youth.

Motivational Interviewing Evaluation Plan

Project Description: The overarching goal of this evaluation was to determine the overall effectiveness of the DJJS Motivational Interviewing program and to track the benefits that come from staff using MI with at-risk youth. Ultimately the Division wanted to see how the training program directly impacted the recidivism rate of these youth, by lowing the total number of youth returning to the Division on new charges.

  • Topic: An evaluation and assessment plan, based on the Kirkpatrick 4-Levels Evaluation Model, designed for the Utah Division of Juvenile Justice Services Motivational Interviewing Training Program.

  • Audience: Developed for the Divisions training department to use as a way of evaluating their current MI training program.

Human Peformance Technology

Project Description: Based on works by Gilbert (1978), Mager & Pipe (1997), Binder (1998), Chevalier (2003), Chyung (2005), Marker (2007) and many others, this online course is part 1 of a 2 part blended learning course. This course is designed to teach the foundations of Human Performance Technology to supervisors, program managers/directors, and management staff who oversee daily operations and the management of staff. This 2 part course is designed to help managerial staff identify potential performance problems, so that they may identify the root causes of these performance problems in an effort to ensure the implementation of effective interventions/solutions. Though this course was designed for the Utah Division of Juvenile Justice Services, the information contained within is applicable in any corporate or government setting that deals with significant performance problems.

  • Topic: Part 1, of a 2 Part course on Human Performance Technology. Part one is an introduction to the foundations of Human Performance Technology.

  • Audience: Supervisory staff, program directors, and management staff who oversee daily operations and the management of staff.
